Aurora Village Board writes about future of Wells Campus
The WLS urged the Village Board of Trustees to keep the campus zoned institutional for future use by nonprofit educational entities. On June 25, 2024, the Board sent a letter to many NYS elected officials and government agencies which took a strong stance on keeping the campus intact.
Please note: a follow-up letter sent on July 15, 2024, expanded on very urgent concerns and made it clear that the Village supports the individual sale of the Medical Center and Peachtown School to their current tenants.
“…we believe it is in the best interests of the Village of Aurora, its residents, property owners, and constituent-businesses, to see the Wells College campus returned to use as a higher education campus, and not parceled off.”
…and…
“To our knowledge, there is not another campus in our region of New York State with as much historic significance or lakeside charm.”
