Gibraltar Exits

At 4:15pm on June 20, 2024, members of the Wells College community received this email from Wells College:

Dear Members of the Wells Community,

Jonathan Gibralter and Wells have parted ways effective June 20, 2024. I know that Jonathan deeply values the spirit of Wells College and was honored to serve the institution for the last nine years. The Board of Trustees thanks President Gibralter for his service to Wells.

The Board is working to name the next leader of Wells College and I will communicate again when that work concludes. As that process continues, College operations will be managed by Susan Henking, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and Robert Cree, Chief Financial Officer. We thank them for their efforts on behalf of Wells and in partnership with the Board.

Best,

Marie Chapman Carroll
Chair, Board of Trustees

As this situation unfolds, the Wells Legacy Society continues to work diligently toward our goal of preserving the rich and enduring legacy of Wells College for many years to come. We ask that the Board of Trustees appoint a new leader — a graduate of Wells College who is not a current Administrator or member of the Board — who is deeply committed to protecting and preserving the school’s artifacts, archives, assets, and educational resources for the Aurora community and the Finger Lakes region.
