Join Us in honoring the past and shaping the future of the Wells legacy.

We are a non-profit organization incorporated on May 14, 2024, by a group of concerned Wells College alumnae responding to the aftermath of the college’s closure announcement on April 29, 2024.

Mission Statement – The Wells Legacy Society (WLS) promotes the local and regional preservation of Wells’ rich history and nationally significant legacy. The WLS works collaboratively in every way possible with government officials, public agencies, and established nonprofits to preserve the assets, archives, artifacts, and architecture of Wells College in the Village of Aurora and the Finger Lakes region to be enjoyed by generations to come. 

In addition, the WLS endeavors to keep the extended community of Wells alumni/ae, friends, and supporters connected. 

Wells has always been a unique institution with a distinctive sense of place. We will remember who we are.
